
KINABATANGAN: Fire and Rescue Department personnel conducted patrols and monitoring in several areas here following a weak 3.3-magnitude earthquake detected in Kuamut at 5.32am on Saturday.
Six personnel from the Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station inspected Sedco Kinabatangan, Bukit Garam Library, Bukit Garam Point and other areas identified as being at risk.
Operations Commander PBK I Jasmani bin Osni said the inspections found no structural damage or reports of collapses.
MetMalaysia said the earthquake was centred at a depth of 118km, about 34km southwest of Tongod and 223km northwest of Tarakan, Indonesia.
It also confirmed there was no tsunami threat to Malaysia following the incident.
