KINABATANGAN: A weak earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale occurred in Kuamut, here at 5.32am today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the earthquake was detected at coordinates 5.1 degrees North and 116.8 degrees East.
It was located 34km southwest of Tongod, Sabah, and 223km northwest of Tarakan, Indonesia.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 118km and there was no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
