MANILA, Philippines — Justin Brownlee and RJ Abarrientos combined for 61 points as Barangay Ginebra finished off Rain of Shine, 118-107 before a mammoth Sunday in Game 6 of their PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup semifinal series at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
The Gin Kings won their series, 4-2 witnessed by 11,321 fans, mostly rooting for Ginebra, which as per PBA head of statistics Fidel Mangonon is the new all-time record attendance at the Ynares Center-Antipolo.
Brownlee scored 31 points, 15 rebounds and five assists, while Abarrientos had 30, six boards and seven feeds.
Ginebra took control of the game behind a 38-23 second quarter exchange.
The league’s most popular squad managed to dictate the tempo from there, putting ROS at bay.
Scottie Thompson added 16 poy, eight rebounds and six assists.
Jaylen Johnson led Rain or Shine with 27 points and 14 rebounds while Giam Mamuyac added 25.
