MANILA, Philippines — The PLDT High Speed Hitters cruised to their third straight victory after beating the winless Akari Chargers in four sets, 25-22, 25-27, 25-21, 25-15, in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Thursday afternoon at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.

The High Speed Hitters were all business in the game as five gunners scored in double figures.

Savi Davison led the scoring with 18 points while Majoy Baron and Kim Kianna Dy chipped in 14 points each for PLDT.

Mika Reyes and Alleiah Malaluan added 10 points apiece.

PLDT’s Kath Arado also tallied 26 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions.

The Rald Ricafort-mentored squad likewise asserted its proficiency in the blocking department against the Chargers, 13-8.

"Maybe it was just a reminder for the system we're running, that we really need more variety in our attacks, and at the same time, we need to adjust to what Akari’s middles and wings are doing," PLDT head coach Ricafort said on how the team recovered from a second set setback.

Akari was led by Grethcel Soltones, who put up 16 points, and Ivy Lacsina who netted 13 points.

PLDT improved to a 3-0 card while Akari fell to a 0-3 slate.
