JOHOR BAHRU - A total of 67.44 per cent or 1,809,185 out of more than 2.6 million voters have cast their ballots in the 16th Johor state election as of 5 pm today.
The Election Commission (EC), in a Facebook post, said the Sri Medan constituency recorded the highest voter turnout at 77.2 per cent, followed by Semarang (76.8 per cent) and Sedili (74.3 per cent).
The three constituencies with the lowest voter turnout were Bekok at 58.9 per cent, Stulang (60.5 per cent) and Perling (60.6 per cent).
For comparison, voter turnout for the same period during the 15th Johor state election stood at 53.13 per cent, or 1,367,909 of the more than 2.57 million registered voters.
A total of 1,076 polling centres across the state closed at 6 pm. - BERNAMA
