Joint effort needed to ensure quality education for Sabah children: CM

Kota Kinabalu: Ensuring Sabah children have access to quality education requires commitment and close cooperation from all quarters, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

Commending the Tuaran Hakka Association for raising education funds, he said such initiatives should be emulated by other associations to support the future of the younger generation and the state.

His speech was delivered by Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister Datuk Ceasar Mandela Malakun at the association's education fundraising dinner here on Friday night.

Hajiji noted that human capital development remains a core priority under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) roadmap, backed by state funding, scholarships, and 14 student assistance initiatives such as Budi, Baik, Bakti, Subfly, and Sentosa, alongside aid from Yayasan Sabah.

He also congratulated the association on the upcoming opening of its new building and Hakka Mini Museum in Tuaran town next month, describing the facility as a valuable bridge to preserve community heritage and foster wider social ties.
