Defending champion University of Perpetual Help System Dalta needed a reverse sweep to defeat Jose Rizal University 19-25, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 15-7 in the NCAA Season 101 boys volleyball tournament on Monday at the Arellano University gym in Taft Avenue, Pasay City.
It was the fifth win for the Junior Altas in six games this season.
Daryl Torio scored a game high 27 points on 25 attacks, one block and an ace while team captain Gabriel Macatuno chipped in 18 points on 13 attacks, 3 blocks and 2 aces for the defending champs John Oracion led the Light Bombers with 20 points on 17 attacks, 2 blocks and an ace.
JRU fell to 2-4 in the team standings.
On other games, the Letran Squires routed the Emilio Aguinaldo College Brigadiers, 25-22, 25-19, 25-19, and the Arellano Braves defeated the San Beda Red Cubs, 25-20, 25-16, 30-28.
