The 2025 Malaysian Physics Olympiad, which aims to identify outstanding physics students across the country, was conducted in three rigorous stages.

The first online test took place on Nov 14, 2024, attracting 333 participants nationwide. Four Upper Sixth Science students from Kota Kinabalu High School delivered commendable performances in this initial round, with Chang Jing Lung and Wong Zeon Vuei each securing Silver Medals, while Belden Wong Zi Quan and Esther Chong Shi Yee earned Bronze Medals.

In the second online test held on Jan 11, 2025, Wong maintained his excellent performance by securing another Silver Medal, which qualified him for the final in-person test in Penang.
