TEMERLOH - Maran Umno Youth chief Mohd Radzi Rahimi was among the four people killed after the four-wheel drive vehicle they were travelling in was crushed by a falling tree along the Kuala Lumpur-Bentong old road near Janda Baik, Bentong this afternoon.
Jerantut Umno chief Haris Salleh Hamzah, in a Facebook post today, said the tragedy claimed the lives of Mohd Radzi, his wife, child and brother-in-law.
"May Allah SWT forgive all their sins, bestow His mercy upon them and place them among the righteous," he said.
He also extended his condolences to Mohd Radzi's family and prayed that they be granted strength, patience and fortitude in facing the tragedy.
Bentong district police chief Supt Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the deceased were a 35-year-old male driver, a 36-year-old woman who was the front passenger along with a five-year-old boy seated on her lap, and another 40-year-old man who was seated at the back.
A second five-year-old boy, who was seated at the back of the vehicle, was injured and taken to Bentong Hospital for treatment.
Earlier, the media reported that four individuals were killed and a child was injured in the crash. - BERNAMA
