MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Manila Police District (MPD) Director Police Brigadier General Arnold Santiago inspected early Sunday the University of Santo Tomas (UST) campus, one of the venues for the 2026 bar examinations.
The mayor arrived at UST at about 4:30 a.m. "to personally check the preparations and ensure that all necessary measures were in place for the safety and convenience of the bar examinees, their families, and all personnel deployed in the area," a statement said.
"The entire resources of the City Government and MPD is in place to ensure that the Bar Examination this 2026 is peaceful. I hope they all become lawyers. We need many lawyers," Moreno said in Filipino and English.
Santiago said the MPD deployed almost 400 personnel to secure two bar exam venues in Manila. "Currently, we have 180 personnel here around UST," he said. The statement read that "168 personnel were deployed at the San Beda University testing site."
Director Arnel Angeles of the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department deployed responders for any medical emergency.
