Metro Manila, parts of Luzon suspend classes due to monsoon rains

MANILA, Philippines — Classes are suspended in several areas across Luzon on Tuesday due to the southwest monsoon or "habagat."

In Metro Manila, classes in all levels are suspended in Marikina. Valenzuela, Parañaque, Las Piñas, San Juan, and Muntinlupa.

Meanwhile, the alternative delivery mode of learning will be implemented in Manila, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Pasay, Taguig and Pateros.

Quezon City suspended face-to-face classes from preschool to senior high school, including Child Development Centers and the Alternative Learning System (ALS), with alternative delivery modes to be implemented.

In Central Luzon, the entire province of Bataan suspended classes for all levels both in public and in private schools.

The following towns and cities in Bulacan also declared class suspensions: Angat. Balagtas, Baliwag City, Bocaue, Bulakan, Bustos, Calumpit. Guiguinto, Hagonoy, Malolos City, Marilao, Meycauayan City, Norzagaray, Obando, Pandi, Paombong, Plaridel, Pulilan, San Ildefonso, San Jose Del Monte City, San Miguel, San Rafael and Santa Maria.

In Pampanga, classes are suspended in all levels in Apalit. Arayat, Bacolor, Candaba, Floridablanca, Guagua , Lubao, City of San Fernando, Macabebe, Magalang, Masantol, Mexico, Minalin,, Porac, San Luis, San Simon, Santa Ana, Santa Rita, Santo Tomas, and Sasmuan,

Several towns in Zambales also suspended their classes: Botolan, Cabangan, Candelaria, Castillejos, San Antonio, San Felipe, San Narciso, Sta. Cruz and Subic.

In Southern Luzon, the province of Laguna suspended classes for all levels in both public and private schools.

The towns of Alfonso, Amadeo, Bacoor, Cavite, Dasmariinas, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo, Imus, Kawit, Mendez, Naic, Noveleta, Tagaytay and Tanza also suspended classes in all levels, while the town of Indang suspended classes from pre-school to elementary only.

The towns of Binangonan, Cainta, Cardona, Montalban, Morong, San Mateo, and Taytay in Rizal also suspended clases.

Meanwhile, the provinces of Abra and Benguet suspended classes in all levels both public and private schools.
