THE Foreign Ministry confirmed that it has not received any reports of Malaysians being affected by the attacks in Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani early this morning.
The ministry, in a statement, said Malaysians residing in or travelling to the affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and avoid locations with heightened security.
At the same time, it is also advised to comply with instructions issued by local authorities and always obtain the latest information through official channels.
"Malaysians are also encouraged to register their presence to facilitate communication, and help can be channelled immediately if needed.
"The ministry will continue to monitor developments closely and provide the latest information from time to time," it said.
It was reported that 11 petrol stations in three southern provinces of Thailand, namely Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat, were rocked by simultaneous bomb explosions early this morning.
A source from the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 (ISOC 4), said the bomb attack that occurred at about 1.04 am involved five PPT petrol stations in Narathiwat, four in Yala and two more petrol stations in Pattani.
Authorities believe that the attacks on all the petrol stations involved more than 50 members of the rebel group who were fully armed.
