Police arrested a man and four women aged in their 30s to 60s to assist in investigations under Section 186 of the Penal Code.
KUANTAN: Police arrested five Orang Asli who are believed to have obstructed enforcement personnel from carrying out their duties during an operation at the Tasek Bera Conservation Forest Reserve in Bera yesterday.
Bera police chief Supt Zulkiflee Nazir said the incident occurred at about 10 am when the Pahang State Enforcement Unit (UPNP), together with several agencies including the Forestry Department, Bera District and Land Office and General Operations Force (GOF), carried out an enforcement operation under the National Forestry Act 1984.
He said that during the operation, a group of individuals was found to have set up an obstruction and provoked the enforcement team while they were carrying out their duties.
“Following this, police arrested a man and four women aged in their 30s to 60s to assist in investigations under Section 186 of the Penal Code,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, he advised the public not to disseminate unveriried new or false information that could cause misunderstanding and disrupt public order.
Several video clips of the incident have also gone viral on social media, drawing various reactions from the public.
