TAWAU: A Proton Persona car was destroyed in a fire in front of Bataras supermarket, Jalan Chong Thien Vun, here, Thursday.
The head of the Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP), Julius John Stephen Jr, said the station received an emergency call at 6.51pm regarding the incident.
“A team of nine officers and firemen were deployed to a location seven kilometers from BBP Tawau along with two engines,” he said.
According to him, when his team arrived, the vehicle involved was razed 30 per cent.
Julius said his team carried out the extinguishing operation and brought the situation under control at 7.20pm.
“No casualty was reported to be involved in this incident and we ended the operation at 7.35pm after making sure there was no more danger at the location,” he said.
