MANILA, Philippines — PLDT aims to keep its winning streak intact when it faces off against a tough Cignal squad in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
PLDT, sitting at the top of the standings with a 3-0 win-loss record, clashes with Cignal (3-1) at 6:30 p.m.
The Rald Ricafort-mentored squad has been on a roll, outmaneuvering top team Creamline Cool Smashers as well as Capital 1 Solar Spikers, and Akari Chargers.
The High Speed Hitters’ scoring depth was on full display in their previous win over Akari, where five players hit double figures.
Savi Davison led the charge with 18 points, followed by Majoy Baron and Kianna Dy with 14 points each. Mika Reyes and Alleiah Malaluan also contributed 10 points apiece, showing the team's well-rounded offense.
“This is what we’re talking about. In the previous conference, we’re really working on the overall effort of the team, and thankfully, the team is healthy, so you see more scoring forces. I hope that the team will remain healthy throughout the conference, since everyone can contribute,” Ricafort shared.
With recent wins, including the PVL On Tour and Invitational titles, PLDT is riding a wave of momentum. Their upcoming match against Cignal will be a true test of the team’s growth and determination to keep climbing the ranks.
Cignal, on the other hand, stunned title-contender Nxled with a straight-set win, 25-19, 25-22, 25-17, last Feb. 14.
The Super Spikers relied on the offensive prowess of Erika Santos, who made 15 markers. Facing PLDT, Santos needs to be backed up by Vanie Gandler, Ishie Lalongisip, and Rose Doria to overcome the trio of Davison, Dy and Baron.
Ahead of their clash, Nxled (3-1) aims to bounce back and vent its ire on winless Akari (0-3) at 4:30 p.m.
