MANILA, Philippines – Several areas in the country will be drenched with rain showers due to two prevailing weather systems on Friday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the shear line affecting the eastern section of Mindanao will cause scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms across Caraga, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Davao Oriental.
Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides.
The northeast monsoon or "amihan" will bring light rains to Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, and Aurora.
Pagasa said the rest of Mindanao and the rest of Eastern Visayas would experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
The rest of the country will experience isolated light rains due to "amihan".
Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will prevail across Northern and Central Luzon, and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
Meanwhile, no low pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation, Pagasa said.
