PUTATAN: Putatan MP Datuk Shahelmey Yahya (pic) has urged the Federal Government to speed up talks with Sabah to finalise the State’s 40 per cent revenue entitlement, as affirmed by the Kota Kinabalu High Court.
He said the current special grant remains an interim arrangement and expressed hope that both governments would reach a decision in line with the Federal Constitution and the court ruling.
Shahelmey, who previously served as State Works Minister, said the GRS-led State Government has prioritised improving basic infrastructure, especially in rural areas.
He said projects involving roads, electricity and water supply are being implemented in phases, with close monitoring to ensure timely completion and efficient use of funds.
Shahelmey added that coordination between both governments is vital to address tender issues and ensure development benefits reach all levels of society.
