KOTA KINABALU: Upko has rebuked Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Karim for questioning Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick’s stance on Sabah’s 40 pc net revenue entitlement, saying the remarks reflect a misunderstanding of the Westminster principle of cabinet collective responsibility.

Secretary-general Datuk Nelson W. Angang said a minister who disagrees with a cabinet decision on principle should resign, not out of defiance but as an act of integrity.

He emphasized that Ewon and Upko have long championed the full implementation of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).

Nelson urged Hassan to better understand MA63 and the decades-long struggle of Sabahans, noting the recent High Court ruling confirmed the state’s rightful 40 pc revenue entitlement.
