
Sirsa district recorded a decline in the Class 12 annual examination results declared by the Board of School Education Haryana on Tuesday. The district posted a pass percentage of 81.98, down from 85.97 last year. With the fall in results, Sirsa slipped two places in the state rankings, from 17th to 19th.
A total of 11,242 students from the district appeared for the examination, of whom 9,216 passed. As many as 1,448 students were placed in the compartment category, while 578 failed.
The board declared the results in the afternoon. Soon after the announcement, a large number of students tried to access the result portal simultaneously, leading to heavy traffic on the website. Many students faced difficulty checking their scores till late evening.
Cyber cafes and mobile shops across the district witnessed a heavy rush as students repeatedly refreshed the website on their mobile phones to access the results.
Students securing high marks celebrated their success, while those placed in compartment have started preparing for the supplementary examination. Schools also witnessed steady movement of students and parents as teachers guided them on higher studies and career options.
With the declaration of the results, the admission process in government and private colleges is expected to gain momentum. Although admissions began on May 7, the process remained slow due to the pending Class 12 results. Officials said submission of documents and online applications is now likely to increase.
Meanwhile, in the Open School Senior Secondary Examination March 2026 (Re-appear and CTP category), 388 students from the district appeared and 270 cleared the examination, taking the overall pass percentage to 69.59. Among them, 171 of 251 boys and 99 of 137 girls passed.
In the Open School Senior Secondary Examination March 2026 (Fresh category), 1,031 students appeared, of whom 502 passed, recording an overall result of 48.69 per cent.
A total of 282 of 630 boys cleared the examination, while 220 of 401 girls passed. Girls once again outperformed boys in the district.
In the Senior Secondary Examination March 2026 (Private category), 146 students appeared and 111 passed, while 35 failed. The district recorded an overall pass percentage of 76.03. Notably, no student was placed in the re-appear category in the private examination.
Fatehabad slips to eighth in Class 12 results
Fatehabad district also recorded a decline in the Class 12 board examination results declared by the Board of School Education Haryana on Tuesday. The district slipped to the eighth position in the state rankings after figuring among the top three last year.
The district recorded a pass percentage of 87.99 this year, nearly three percentage points lower than last year’s 90.62.
Out of 9,452 students who appeared for the examination, 8,317 passed, while 240 failed and 895 were placed in the re-appear category.
However, Janhvi of Model KM School brought laurels to the district by jointly securing the top position in the state in the commerce stream with 494 marks out of 500. No student from the district made it to the overall state top-10 list this year.
