A Malaysian woman narrowly avoided becoming an unwitting “mule” after a stranger approached her and asked her to carry a bag through the security checkpoint at KLIA Terminal 2.

In a video shared online, the woman was seen rushing to the departure gate while struggling to manage her two young children.

Wanted to “make things easier”

Amid the chaos, an unfamiliar woman believed to be in her 50s suddenly approached her and asked for help carrying a bag past the security screening area.

What raised suspicion was the fact that the stranger was already holding her own passport and boarding pass, yet appeared reluctant to pass through security herself.

All she wanted was ‘to make things easier’, but she already had her passport and boarding pass and still didn’t want to go in herself.

“We were panicking because the gate might close and we had two kids with us, yet she still tried to hand over the bag. We don’t know what she wanted to smuggle,” the woman said in the video.

Stopped by brother-in-law

The video also captured the moment the stranger attempted to pass the bag to the woman, before being stopped by the woman’s brother-in-law, who was recording the incident.

The stranger was heard repeatedly asking for help as she attempted to hand over the bag.

Don’t take it, we don’t know what’s inside,” her brother-in-law replied.

Netizens’ comment

Following the clip’s circulation online, many netizens, including individuals claiming to be airport staff, praised the woman for refusing the request, warning that such situations could carry serious legal consequences.

‘I’m an airport staff. That was a good move, sis — don’t take this lightly, okay. There are already many cases where people are asked to carry bags because there’s ‘something’ inside.’
