LAHAD DATU: A 34-tonne tanker lorry carrying Crude Palm Oil (CPO) skidded and overturned near the Pan Borneo project roundabout along Jalan Lahad Datu-Sandakan on Thursday morning, causing a spill.
The Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at 8.40am and deployed nine personnel to the scene.
The team arrived within minutes and found the tanker on its side, with no victims involved.
Firemen disconnected the battery to prevent any fire hazards and alerted police and the Pan Borneo project contractor.
The CPO will be pumped out by the company, while the contractor will carry out clean-up works using soil. The operation ended at 9.40am.
