The Department of Periodontics and Implantology at JN Kapoor DAV Centenary Dental College inaugurated the ‘Sameeksha-7’ programme on the college premises. The programme is being organised under the aegis of the Indian Society of Periodontics (ISP).
The three-day academic symposium will serve as a premier knowledge-sharing platform, drawing distinguished postgraduate scholars from across India and Nepal, including delegates from BHU, Azamgarh, Lucknow, Patiala, and other institutions.
The event commenced with the participation of 75 final-year postgraduate candidates, who engaged with an expert panel of senior educators. The mentors, known for their extensive clinical experience and significant national and international research contributions, are providing advanced insights into Periodontology and Implantology.
Industrialist and philanthropist Kapil Gupta of Polyplastics Limited and his wife, Sherry Gupta, attended the event as chief guests. They emphasised the importance of developing core competencies and motivated young doctors to become torchbearers of public health and advocates for disease prevention.
To ensure academic excellence and facilitate credit points approved by the National Dental Commission, the programme is being overseen by observers Dr Vipul Bhatnagar and Dr Priti Bhatnagar, senior dental practitioners from Karnal and executive council members of the Haryana Dental Council.
In his welcome address, Principal Dr Inder Kumar Pandit lauded the DAV Trust’s significant role in nation-building. He highlighted the Trust’s commitment to providing comprehensive education across technical, legal, and humanistic disciplines, reaching even remote areas.
He further emphasised the college’s commitment to excellence in dental education and community outreach. “The success of this seventh edition of the ‘Sameeksha’ programme is a testament to the vision and hard work of Dr Nymphea Pandit (Head of Department), supported by Dr Shalini, Dr Deepika and the dedicated student body, who continue to establish this college as a centre of advanced dental learning in the region,” Dr Pandit said.
