Tropical depression outside PAR intensifies into tropical storm — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) intensified into a tropical storm, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

"As of 8:00 PM today, 16 September 2026, the Tropical Depression (formerly LPA 09d) being monitored OUTSIDE the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has intensified into a Tropical Storm and was named" Dujuan, Pagasa said.

LPA stands for Low Pressure Area.

Based on data in Pagasa's post, "Dujuan" was 2,965 kilometers east of northern Luzon as of 8 p.m. and was moving north northeastward at 25 kilometers per hour (km/h) with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center and gustiness reaching 80 km/h.
