MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) forecast rainy weather over a large part of the Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday.
“We are still on monsoon break and, at the moment, an Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ will affect the Visayas and Mindanao. This is also the reason why rains will be experienced in a large part of the Visayas and Mindanao today,” Pagasa Weather Specialist Chenel Dominguez said in Filipino and English during the 5 a.m. Public Weather Forecast.
“It will be rainy in a large part of the Visayas and Mindanao,” Dominguez said.
She said rains were expected in Masbate, Eastern Visayas, the Negros Island Region, Central Luzon, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Oriental, and Lanao del Sur.
Dominguez also said, “The entire Luzon will experience fair weather but let us also expect hot and humid weather especially at noon up to afternoon with high chance of brief heavy downpours in the afternoon and evening due to localized thunderstorms.”
In Palawan, the rest of the Visayas, or Western Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao, she said partly cloudy to cloudy skies “with isolated rainshowers and localized thunderstorms especially in the afternoon and evening” were expected.
