TWO passengers wanted for illegal recruitment and syndicated estafa were arrested by the Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup) at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3.
A 41-year-old female passenger bound for Dubai was arrested at Terminal 3 on Sept. 27, 2026, after a Bureau of Immigration (BI) check exposed an active arrest warrant.
The aviation police reported that the screening flagged the woman for outstanding charges of illegal recruitment and estafa.
BI personnel intercepted and turned over the departing passenger to NAIA Police Station 3, which coordinated with the Manila Police District Investigation and Detection Management Division-Crime Investigation Section.
Court records show that the warrant was issued on May 17, 2026, in connection with two counts of illegal recruitment and two counts of estafa, with the recommended bail set at P86,000.
Meanwhile, a 32-year-old male passenger wanted for syndicated estafa was arrested in a joint police operation upon arriving at NAIA Terminal 3 from Singapore on Sept. 27.
The arrest took place following a joint operation involving personnel from the RID, RSOG3, and the Avsegroup's NAIA Police Station 3.
According to Avsegroup, the operation targeted an individual with a no-bail arrest warrant issued on Sept. 10, 2026, by the Angeles City Regional Trial Court Branch 57.
Police authorities coordinated with the airline to verify the suspect's travel status and confirm that he was aboard a flight from Singapore. Upon his arrival, the joint team immediately arrested the passenger.
