
Kota Kinabalu: A 23-year-old woman was fined RM5,000 in default three months’ jail for careless and inconsiderate driving which resulted in an accident two years ago.
Anisa Tajul pleaded guilty before Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie to committing the offence while driving along Jalan Tuaran By-pass, near here, at 12.55pm on Jan 28, 2021.
The offence under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 (Amended 1999) carries a fine of between RM4,000 and RM10,000 and liable to jail of up to 12 months, upon conviction.
The court also ordered Anisa’s driving licence to be endorsed with the conviction.
Traffic Prosecuting Officer Khairul Nizam appeared for the prosecution.
In the same court, a woman and a man were fined RM1,000 or two months’ jail for buying illegal 4D.
Jarvis Simon Rayner Molikun, 27, and Hilida Primus, 45, admitted separately to the charge against them.
Jarvis was found buying the illegal 4D lottery at 3.30pm on July 9, 2022 in front of a pharmacy in Dongonggon.
Meanwhile, Hilida had bought the illegal 4D lottery at 3.30pm on Jan 13 this year in Putatan area. Inspector Suzie Kupit prosecuted.
