University of Perpetual Help System Dalta, a 9-time champion, attempts to bring home the crown anew in the NCAA Cheerleading Championship on Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Coach Ruf Rosario said the Altas Perps Squad will carry an "ancient" theme this year when they seek to wrest the title away from defending champion Arellano University.

Aside from the bragging rights of being the champion, the 10 performing schools are sure to showcase their gravity-defying stunts, jaw-dropping routines and electrifying performances while showcasing their fancy costumes this year.

The order of performance from first to 10th is Lyceum of the Philippines University, San Sebastian College-Recoletos, Mapua University, Emilio Aguinaldo College, Perpetual Help, San Beda University, Arellano University, Letran College, Jose Rizal University and College of Saint Benilde.

Last year, Arellano University scored 218 points to secured their sixth consecutive championship. Perpetual Help placed second with 213.50 points while the Letran placed third.

This season’s cheerleading champion will take home the P100,000 prize while the first runner-up and second-runner up will receive P75,000 and P50,000, respectively.

The Las Piñas City based cheering squad last won the cheerleading championship in 2016 for their 9th title.
