TAWAU: Two men, aged 36 and 34, were arrested in connection with a housebreaking incident at Taman Berkeley, Batu 1 Jalan Apas, where several items including badminton rackets were stolen.

Tawau Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the arrests followed a report lodged by the victim, a man in his 40s, who said his home was broken into around 6.30am on April 12, with losses estimated at nearly RM4,500.

“Stolen items included badminton rackets, a television, smartwatch, a MyKad belonging to another individual, cash, and a smartphone,” he said, Saturday.

The second suspect was arrested at about 11.30am in front of a vehicle workshop along Jalan Ranggu. His arrest led to the recovery of a television and an Apple I-Watch.

“Checks revealed both suspects had prior criminal records involving fraud and drug offences. Police are still working to trace the remaining stolen items and determine if others were involved,” he said.
