MANILA, Philippines — At least for now, Far Eastern University stayed in the hunt for the last semifinals berth in the UAAP Season 88 women's volleyball tournament after denying Ateneo de Manila, 22-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-21, 15-10, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday afternoon.
Finishing the eliminations at 8-6, FEU needs University of Santo Tomas (8-5) to lose to National University later to forge a playoff for No. 4 and the last stepladder semifinals berth.
Otherwise, UST takes the last semis slot.
Ateneo finished its campaign with a 2-12 slate, placing seventh in the 8-team league.
