Kuala Lumpur: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale struck the Flores Sea at 10.20pm on Thursday, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
MetMalaysia said the tremor occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres, located at coordinates 7.2 degrees South and 120.8 degrees East, about 272 kilometres south-east of Makassar, Indonesia.
There is no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
