Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor received a courtesy call from the new Indonesian Consul in Tawau, Dino Nurwahyudin, at Menara Kinabalu here on Wednesday.
Dino said the visit served to officially introduce himself after assuming duties as Head of the Indonesian Consulate in Tawau on July 9, alongside discussing his targets and proposals throughout his tenure in Sabah.
He said the meeting also provided an avenue for both parties to exchange views on matters of mutual interest and identify areas to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Sabah and Indonesia.
Highlighting the longstanding close relations between both regions, Dino expressed hope for more direct flights connecting Indonesia and Sabah to facilitate greater people-to-people integration.
The diplomat, who was accompanied by his wife Gain Nrangwesty, holds extensive foreign service experience, having served at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and previously handled Information, Social, and Cultural affairs at the Tawau mission from 2024 to 2025.
