MANILA, Philippines — National University bucked a slow start to frustrate University of the East, 25-19, 25-10, 25-19, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday to bounce back in the UAAP Season 88 women's volleyball tournament.

Recovering from an 8-15 start, the Lady Bulldogs came to their senses and dominated the Lady Warriors for the rest of the way.

NU improved to 4-1 for second place in the standings, while the cellar-dwelling UE stayed winless at 0-5.

Arah Panique scored 12 points for NU, which played without prized rookie Sam Cantada who rested to continue recovering from her injury.

Libero Ic Cepada inadvertently hurt Cantada's shin in their loss against UP last Saturday.

Van Bangayan paced UE with 12 points.
