Pagasa: 2 LPAs inside PAR, 'habagat' bringing rain over parts of Luzon

Two low-pressure areas (LPAs) are being monitored within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), both located in northern Luzon, state weather bureau Pagasa reported early Tuesday morning.

According to Pagasa's 4 a.m. weather bulletin, one of the LPAs is the remnant of Tropical Depression Luis, located in the vicinity of Baggao, Cagayan, and the other was over the coastal waters of Balaon, La Union.

Both LPAs are unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, Pagasa said.

Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the LPAs.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon (habagat) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Antique, Iloilo, and Guimaras.

The rest of the country will have partly to mostly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms.

Pagasa is also monitoring  Typhoon Dolphin, which is outside PAR. (TMT)
