MANILA, Philippines – Most parts of the archipelago would likely experience fair weather within the next 24 hours except for isolated downpours in late afternoon and evening, the state-run weather agency said.

Also, weather specialist Veronica Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that the agency has not monitored any weather disturbance within or outside the country’s area of responsibility.

“We see no cloud clusters or formations, which means there would be fair weather in most areas of the country, at least, within the 24-hour forecast period,” Torres said during a 5 a.m. briefing.

The northeast monsoon, locally known as ‘amihan’ or cool, dry Siberian winds, has been affecting only the provinces of Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Ilocos Region, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain, according to Pagasa.

The other weather system, the easterlies – or hot and humid winds from the Pacific Ocean –  would be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the country, and will bring partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, it added.
