SHAH ALAM – Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate S Leza Md Yassin has won the Pilah state seat after defeating Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate Noorzunita Begum Mohd Ibrahim in a closely watched rematch between two women candidates in the 2026 Negeri Sembilan state election.
Based on unofficial results, S Leza secured the seat with a majority of 728 votes over Noorzunita.
The two candidates had previously faced each other in the same constituency during the 2023 Negeri Sembilan state election, when Noorzunita emerged victorious for PH.
The latest result therefore sees BN reclaim the seat from PH in a repeat contest between the two candidates.
Meanwhile, a total of 859,760 registered voters in Negeri Sembilan were eligible to cast their ballots today to elect representatives in the state's 16th state election.
Of the total, 7,391 were postal voters.
Polling began simultaneously at 8am, involving 401 polling centres and 1,668 channels across the state.
All polling centres were scheduled to close at 6pm, with vote counting subsequently taking place to determine the winners of the 36 state seats contested.
The results remain unofficial pending confirmation by the Election Commission.
