
Kota Kinabalu: With the percentage of sporadic infections shooting up to 65.5 per cent on Sunday, Sabah’s Covid-19 Spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun again urged the public to “enjoy responsibly” when celebrating the festivities this month.
“Amid our excitement in celebrating the Aidilfitri and Kaamatan festivities, it is hoped that all levels of society continue to abide by the recommendations and advice of the Malaysian Health Ministry.
“Enjoy with care and enjoy responsibly,” he said in a statement, Sunday.
Sabah’s cases rose slightly to 29 on Sunday from 22 the day earlier, while no deaths or new clusters were identified.
Masidi said Kota Kinabalu topped the list with nine cases, followed by Kota Belud (4), Putatan (3), Kota Marudu (2) and Kuala Penyu (2).
“No new cases were recorded in 15 districts, while four districts recorded two cases and five districts recorded one case,” he added. He said the majority of cases were mild, with 27 out of 29 being category one and two infections, while two were in category four. No category three and five infections were recorded.
On Sabah’s immunisation programme, 2,056 individuals took their vaccines on May 7, of which 221 were adults, 102 were teenagers and 1,733 were children.
