
MANILA, Philippines — The Akari stunned powerhouse Creamline, 25-21, 26-24, 17-25, 25-21, in the preliminary round of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on Thursday night at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City.
The Chargers extended their winning streak to four and raised their record to 4-3 as the Cool Smashers dropped to a 5-2 mark.
Ivy Lacsina led Akari with a double-double performance of 20 points and 18 excellent receptions.
“For me, I don't look at it as if I'm the only one peaking. It's really about my whole team and the teamwork we put in every day, from the coaches, and PTs,” Lacsina said in Filipino after the game.
Setter Mars Alba also stuffed the statistical sheet with 18 excellent sets, 18 excellent digs and three points.
Her excellent playmaking allowed two other Chargers to score in double figures with Eli Soyud netting 15 points and Grethcel Soltones adding 14 points and 12 excellent receptions.
Jema Galanza led Creamline with 16 points even as Tots Carlos added 10 points in a losing cause.
