Kota Kinabalu: A 29-year-old man was jailed 10 months by the Magistrate Court for having stolen items.

Azaharin Abdul Razak pleaded guilty before Magistrate Stephanie Sherron Abbie to two counts of having stolen items belonging to Palak Agrawal on Jan 3 at 2.30am and 4am, respectively, at a house and a tent on the hill at Kampung Wak-Wak, Sepanggar.

Azaharin was jailed five months for each count.

He was charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code, which carries a jail term of up to five years or a fine, or both, on conviction.

Suzie said among the items found with Azaharin are clothes, bag, power bank, handphone, make-up and laptop.

Duty Counsel Lim Ming Zhoong @Lawrence, representing Azaharin, applied for a lenient sentence as his wife is pregnant.

On Jan 11, Azaharin was also sentenced to five months in jail by another magistrate court for similar offence.

The court ordered Azaharin to serve the sentence from the date of his arrest.
