Defending champion College of St. Benilde seeks a repeat win against University of Perpetual Help System Dalta in their NCAA Season 101 women’s volleyball best-of-three semifinals series Wednesday at the San Andres Gym in Malate, Manila.

The Lady Blazers walked away with a hard-fought 17-25, 25-18, 27-25, 19-25, 8-15 victory over the Lady Altas in Game 1 at the Strike Gym in Bacoor City last Sunday.

St. Benilde was led by Zam Nolasco who finished with a game-high 28 points on 21 attacks and 7 blocks in Game 1. She was backstopped by Shakaina Lleses, who recorded a triple double of 16 points, 15 digs and 17 receptions.

The Lady Altas, on the other hand, were led by Shaila Omipon and Jemalyn Menor who scored 18 points apiece. The team’s top gunner Cyrille Almeniana, however, was limited to only 9 points in the game.

Perpetual Help needed to win on Wednesday to forge a do-or-die Game 3 for a spot in the championship round.
