
SHAH ALAM - Barisan Nasional (BN) successfully defended the Gemencheh state seat in the 16th Negeri Sembilan state election after its candidate, Suhaimizan Bizar, secured victory with a majority of 7,393 votes.
Official results released by the Election Commission (EC) showed Suhaimizan obtaining 12,175 votes to defeat Pakatan Harapan's (PH) Datuk Abd Latif, who garnered 4,782 votes.
The result reaffirmed BN's strong support in the constituency, with the coalition maintaining its hold on one of Negeri Sembilan's key state seats.
The Gemencheh contest saw a straight fight between BN and PH candidates.
